Share A Wheelchair To Running
I worked hard and prepared enough to get a medical school interview at a prestigious school in New York this last December. During the interview, when asked about my accident 3 years ago, It took every ounce of self control not to get emotional. There I was, sitting in the hot seat, so much pressure and stress. So I told my interviewer my story of how I was paralyzed from the waste down after a severe spinal cord injury. How I lived in a hospital for 4 months, and was faced with the reality of possibly never walking again. All at once, in the middle of my story, I was reminded of how strong I was. What I had been through to get to where I was at that very moment. How I walked into an interview with my own strength, unassisted. 3 years ago I never could have imagined doing that. At that point I wasn't nervous anymore. Because I had done the Impossible, paralyzed in a wheelchair to walking one year later, and RUNNING just 2 years later! If I can do that, I can do anything, Thanks to the wonderful support of The Shea Center. Without this incredible organization, who knows where I would be today. Thank you for reading!
