Hi, My name is Lauren and Iím Courtney, and welcome to TEAM SQUISHY!!! Okay, why squishy? Because weíre squishy!!! One day I, Lauren, just randomly started calling Courtney Squishy. I just pat her on the head one day and said ďhello Squishy.Ē And she pat me back on the head and said ďNo, youíre Squishy.Ē Thus, Squishy was born!!! Hence the name Team Squishy, because we make an awesome team together!!! Whether helping to teach volunteer training or riding the carousel at Disneyland, you can count on it that we will be having fun together. The Shea center is very special to both of us. Itís like a second home, a second family here at Shea. We have made, and continue to make, so many amazing friends here at Shea. All of our friends, riders, horses, staff members, or other volunteers, are very special to us. We know we can always count on them to be there for us when we need it and they can count on us as well. Hi, itís Lauren. I am a 7Ĺ year Shea Center volunteer, 18 years old, and a freshman at Saddleback College. I love it when I come to the Shea Center each week and see the smiles on my riderís faces. I love seeing their progress week by week and sometimes itís amazing when I look back at where they started and I realize how much progress they have made. I absolutely love coming to the Shea Center each week and seeing everyone. Especially my boyfriend Rock. Him and I have such a great bond together and he trusts me a lot. Itís the bond that holds us here together at Shea and the love for our riders and horses and for each other that makes us so successful in what we do. Hi, Courtney here. I am 19 years old and I am also a freshman at Saddleback College and I have been volunteering for 3 years. There are 2 reasons of why I love coming to Shea is because I always get to see each ridersí smile on their faces and my Princess Maggie Rose. Maggie Rose is a special Princess to me because she always makes me joyful every time I see her and we have this beautiful bond between us! Each rider that I am with, always makes me happy because I love seeing them improve their disabilities, and turning their disabilities into their own abilities. I would not be me of where I am today if I didnít have the Shea Center as a part of my life. I can call the Shea Center my family because the love created here will be forever in my heart. Please donate to our Drive to Ride team so we can continue the love for this wonderful place and help ensure that the bonds and friendships that we all have for each other, riders, volunteers, staff members, and horses, never gets broken. Here is a quote that we will always keep in our hearts, ďMany people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart.Ē(Eleanor Roosevelt). 100% of the money raised through Drive to Ride goes directly to rider financial aid and horse care. Help us keep this special bond between rider and horse by donating to our team. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
